This is honestly the best tasting cereal out there. It's plenty chocolately, which also means it's quite sugary, but surprisingly, its sugar content is 8g per serving, which is less than a lot of cereals (specifically, the sugary kids' cereals). Depending on how you feel about sugar, I wouldn't count on it being a "healthy" breakfast food, but it sure makes a tasty one. It's also an excellent snack. I hate to admit it, but I can eat (and have eaten) a whole box of these in a single day - by myself.
Regarding the gluten free issue - all the boxes I've received (and have purchased in local stores) say on them that they are gluten free. I believe that the other reviewers are taking issue with the ingredients list posted on this product description page, as opposed to an ingredients list directly from the box. This is, therefore, not an issue with the Chex, but with Amazon's description. The ingredients list is posted online by General Mills here: [...]

Two thumbs up for Chocolate Chex! Especially since they now make it gluten free. The price was right and less expensive than my local store and when combined with other orders the shipping was free.

Great deal on this cereal. I am getting it auto shipped as my family loves this cereal. I saw a review of this cereal about it not being gluten free as it contains barley malt.... well I actually have this product and I checked the ingredients and it DOES NOT CONTAIN barley malt. I think Amazon is listing the ingredients for the non-gluten free cereal.

I have Celiac disease and am thrilled that General Mills has started labeling so many of their products that are gluten free. The Chocolate Chex were originally a purchase I made for myself because of the gluten free status but my entire family (who don't have Celiac) loves them! I have to buy 3 or 4 boxes at a time and hide 2 for myself!
